Today,
It was a good night, I studied till 12.00 in night, suddenly I felt extreme hunger. I prepared my self to visit canteen and in this way I checked my wallet. Alas! It was empty. "Don't worry ATM is not away" I thought. I dressed up myself with jacket and socks and left the room. I entered card and completed the whole process for money withdrawal. "what the fuck this is" I sputtered. Actually there was no money in the ATM. Then I headed to PNB ATM but result was the same. My hunger was continuously intensifying. " What I should do" I whispered. After that I took the way for cautley ATM. During the way first time I felt that how much opinionated I was. Why I did not asked to any of my friend for some money. Some what I found money and headed towards Azad canteen. Then there I calm my hunger. For some time I went to my friend's room and after passing few minute of bakar I was walking towards my room.
Then I studied till 4.00 am and then slept. I was drowning in dreams, and, suddenly my brain socked me. I woke up quickly and murmured " Oh ,No". And the whole flashback passed away through my brain. That was a nice experience. I enjoyed it up to fullest. On first day when I reached at the assessment center for Gandhi fellowship, there were approximate 20 candidate who were competing for opportunity. After introduction, i let to know that they all of they were belong to Delhi university. Assessment process started at 9.00 am in the morning. We all were divided into 3 groups each of 6 members. The first phase of process was discussion on case study which we would had to solve. Discussion was started by a girl. She was so much confident that she made us to feel that she might be already a Gandhi Fellow and appeared as observer to me. Bcz of this reason I was calling her 'mam'. Se denied many times and told to me that I should not called her mam, her name was Lakshika Pant. This very surprising for me and suddenly I was lacking my confidence. At 10.00 am our field work started .
For the field work all of us went to the slum to collect some data related with the lack of education in poors. We were further divided into groups of 3, our group members were Sheetal sanwal, a student of Daulat ram colledge and a student fron JNU, and the observer of my group was Sugandha Munsi a Gandhi Fellow for last two year. However I also belong too village and poor family but I had never went to such dirty place in my life. We entered to the first house. But what was that, a family of six was living in one room house. And kitchen was out side the the room. A lady was cooking food and her sister in law was sitting beside her. I was afraid of asking questions but Sheetal sanwal was fully confident for such situation and she started conversation with some questions regarding with children education, family problems, and so many. During that hour I saw a new world which needed much more space to explain. But in simple way you can understand that the problem of illiteracy in poors is not bcz of single reason, but it is because of a complex of many problems. After the field work we returned back and during the returning journey I shared my experience to Sugandha Munsi. Then we had our lunch together at the assessment center.
After the lunch we had to prepare a presentation on the case study. All other members of my group were favoring presentation by skit and hence I did not raised any argument. Most of our time lost in script writing but finally we got success. Now it was time to play skit. We tried many time but success was miles away. I was very much irritated bcz of Lakshika pant as she was talking much but doing less. Finally we decided to present through PPT. Now it was my responsibly to make ppt. By hard work of that night I did that. On second day Morning we appeared as best in presentation. This was the time when I started to dominate over the whole process. I was most interacted with Sheetal and our tuning was nice. The whole morning had spent in different case studies related with working processes which were including some funny situation.
After lunch it was the time for reflection of the day and we shared our experience of the assessment process and also our understanding about each other. I complemented sheetal that she had been the most balanced girl for me, and, on other hand for Lakshika pant I commented that I hated her bcz she talks much. Next day, we had to participate in interview. During waiting time for interview sheetal was alway interested to know about me. But I was not who can share all of his thing to some girl Eventually my interview was nice and that why I was sure for my selection. Now it was the time to leave for me. When I was leaving sheetal talked to me.
She told me emotionally that" Saurabh 2 din mein hi tumase itani achchhi dosti ho gayi par aage shayad kabhi na mile". For her consolation I replied her "don't worry, hum donon ka selection ho jayega.". We were good friends within 36 hours. And finaly she took my bag and came to drop me.
Finaly it was a luck that both of us selected for the same.
